This year I decided to focus the first few lessons of the year on drawing. It really has been going so well. It is making such a difference.
My 4th grade lesson went so well I simplified it for 3rd.
I set up this little still life on each table (it’s a Dixie cup with a few pencils and a brush) and we talked about observational drawing and worked step by step, breaking it down into simple shapes. Talking about the height and size of the brush and pencils, the space between them. We added a shadow and horizon line in the background.
Materials: still life’s (Dixie cups, pencils, brushes), drawing pencil, paper, eraser
