YOU’LL NEED:
- PENCIL & ERASER
- DRAWING PAPER
- CRAYOLA DRAWING CHALK- 12 set
- CRAYOLA WHITE CHALK- white chalk may not included in the set of Crayola drawing chalk
*Each color of the Crayola Drawing Chalk can be broken into 3 pieces each, and can be shared among 3 students. I usually have about 12 sets and its plenty for all of my classes. 1 pack of the white chalk is enough for a whole class.
Use simple oval shape, close to the top of the paper. Draw in the edges and bottom of the pie.
Just above center of the pie, draw an open triangle for the missing wedge. Complete the missing wedge by drawing a parallel line to the top, and connect both edges with a vertical line.
Draw in the pie crust and the whipped cream. Optional to add in a plate.
Use CRAYOLA DRAWING CHALK to color in the pie with orange. Add brown on top of the orange, to darken the inside of the pie.
Color the pie crust with brown, use WHITE CHALK over the brown along the edges of the crust. And white on the whipped cream.
Color in the plates, add shadows, and a background. Then add any details to your pies.
This background is just a suggested technique, students can create any type of background for their pie drawings.
EXPERT TIPS:
Discuss with students some rules about using chalk or pastels.
Be aware of where you are placing your hands, so it doesnt smear.
Blow of or shake off the dust as you go. Messy mats on the tables are advised for this project.
