No-Brush Painted Flowers Art Lesson for Kids

PAINTED FLOWERS ART LESSON is for Grades K-3. A great art project for Spring or Mother’s Day. This lesson introduces form, proportions and shadows. Best of all, NO PAINT BRUSH is needed for this PAINTED FLOWERS lesson.

Just a few supplies and 2 paint colors. No water or brushes necessary to create these gorgeous flower paintings. This entire lesson can be done in a 1 hour class or split in to 2 lessons, drawing and coloring in one class and painting in another.

DIRECTIONS

Go step by step drawing a cylinder shaped cup. Starting in the center of the paper with the top oval of the cup, then the bottom oval and last connect the sides.

Draw the flower stems from the bottom oval to coming out of the top of the cup.

Using gray, green and blue crayon to outline and color in the cup, shadow, water and stems.

Using a finger dip in to one color of paint to tap on the flowers, wipe the color off with a paper towel and repeat with another color on top.

I have my first graders make this PAINTED FLOWERS ART LESSON for a MOTHER’S DAY each year. The students love learning these skills that make their art work “look real”, form and shadows.
