4th Grade Halloween Art- Pastel Skulls
This is my first project testing out Prang Pastels. It was messy but it was a fun way to introduce the pastels. These Pastel Sugar Skulls can easily be done with 3rd Grade -Middle School Grades
Materials: White Drawing Paper, Prang Pastels, Sharpie, Q-tips, pencil & eraser, fixative (Suave hairspray works great)
The drawing for this is just a few steps. A large circle for the skeleton face, then add the jaw, neck, nose and mouth. The eyes I gave a few examples of designs, as well as designs on the top of the head. Once the drawing is done, trace over with sharpie.
Color in the designs with the pastels. I limited the students to choosing 4 colors for their Sugar Skull. After using 1 color on a few places on the skull I use a q-tip to blend the pastel. Repeat for each color. Color in the nose and background with black or purple last.
Very nice project!
