FUNKY PORTRAITS -ART LESSON. Follow along step by step with Viridian Art ! Learn to make these simple, fun faces, for any grade levels.
You’ll need: paper, pencil, eraser and whatever you have at home to add in color. We’ll be using watercolor paints and acrylic paints for ours, but crayons, pastels, color pencils, markers will work too!
This is a great lesson for teaching remotely! Students can use any materials they have at home. Make silly, fun portraits, or make it a self-portrait. Have fun creating patterns and accessories.

This is such a fun project for any grade level. A great resource for homeschoolers, teachers, and parents. Watercolors and acrylic paints work great for this project, but any art materials can be used to create these portraits.
The video takes you step by step through creating these adorable people. A fun DIY lesson at home or at school. All you need is a few materials.
YOU’LL NEED:
pencil
paper
eraser
brushes
water & paper towel
watercolors
acrylic paints
Start off with a simple drawing and watercolor in the face, any color. Match it to a realistic skin tone or a bright, bold color. Then pick a color for the background.
Use acrylic paint to add in color to the shirt. Add in eyes and a smile.
And then comes the hair!!! Make it crazy. Make it look like yours. Add a hat. You get to decide.
Use paint or any other material for this step.
Create details on the shirt or background too.
Go back to watercolors to add in a nose and some pink on the cheeks.
